KOFI KINGSTON’S EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW

We are kicking off tonight’s WWE SmackDown Live with an ‘exclusive interview’ with WWE Champion, Kofi Kingston talking to Michael Cole. The WWE broadcaster starts off by talking about Kingston’s run to the championship, starting with the Elimination Chamber.

Kofi says he has learned that you will have a lot of highs, but also some lows, and he has learned that no matter what you have to keep pushing and he’s glad he did that because that’s why he’s WWE Champion and he adds that he is happy he did it with Woods and Big E.

Cole then takes us to WrestleMania, which he claims is the greatest moment in the history of the show. Kingston says it was the greatest moment of his life, but Cole mentions he now has a target on his back, and Kevin Owens was the first man to take aim.

Kofi says a lot of people said he should have seen it coming, and they might be right. Kofi says New Day believes in giving people second chances and they believed that KO wanted to change. Kofi says all Owens has to do was ask for an opportunity, but now he says let him come, and he wants to do it at Money In The Bank.

Kevin Owens himself then comes out and praises Kofi’s WrestleMania moment, but adds that moments are fleeting and he says that the fans do not believe that Kofi is actually championship material, and KO believes Kofi doesn’t believe he is either.

However, as Owens continues, Xavier Woods appears and attacks him from behind, but KO quickly turns things around and levels Woods with a Superkick before running away as Kofi tends to his New Day brother.

BACKSTAGE SEGMENT

Backstage Kofi tells Xavier Woods he can take care of things, but Woods needs to take care of himself as well as he has a family to take care of.

BAYLEY vs BECKY LYNCH

Prior to the match, it is announced that Bayley will be part of the Women’s Money In The Bank ladder match.

Straight away Becky Lynch confidently plants Bayley to the mat, showing a cocky edge, but Bayley quickly gets things going, dropping Lynch into the second rope from the outside leading to a face-off between the two women.

Back from commercial and, Bayley drops Lynch head first onto the top turnbuckle before taking the double-champion down, but Lynch is able to kick out of the pinfall attempt. Bayley keeps the momentum going, popping out from the turnbuckles with a clothesline before following it up with a knee to the face.

The Man finally gets in some offense, hitting a dropkick from the second turnbuckle and Bayley then dares Lynch to take the fight to her which she does, throwing Bayley around with a Bexsploder, and the two women then go for a clothesline, leading to them both being taken out.

Bayley attempts to hit the Elbow Drop from the top rope, but Lynch gets her knees up and quickly locks in the Dis-Arm-Her as Bayley taps out.
