WWE SmackDown video highlights: Edge returns

Edge returned to SmackDown last night and went after Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

In his first appearance since WrestleMania 37, Edge brawled with Reigns in the main event angle of last night’s show. Reigns and Paul Heyman were giving a “State of the Universal Championship Address” and listed Edge’s name among the challengers Reigns has defeated. Heyman said Reigns has cleared out the division.

Edge got the better of his brawl with Reigns until Reigns hit a Superman punch. Reigns went to go get a steel chair, but Edge gave Reigns a spear when he came back in the ring. Edge set up Reigns for a con-chair-to, but Jimmy Uso saved Reigns. Uso attacked Edge but was sent into the steel steps and given a spear through the barricade.

Reigns and Heyman headed up the ramp as Edge fought with Uso. Edge asked where Reigns was at and said that if Reigns wants him — Edge is right here.

Edge challenged for Reigns’ Universal Championship at WrestleMania 37 this April, but the match was turned into a triple threat match with Daniel Bryan added. Reigns retained the Universal Championship by stacking Edge and Bryan on top of each other and pinning them.
