Sexual Misconduct Allegations Coming? Ciampa Update, Vanguard 1
…And so it begins. With each passing day, it seems as though another cultural figure is being exposed for sexual misconduct. Those serious accusations have yet to hit the wrestling business, but that may be about to change very soon. Heather Lynn, a former ring announcer for EVOLVE and other indy promotions, has accused promoters and wrestlers of harassing her in the workplace. She did not reveal who specifically had been harassing her, but Lynn did note that the likes of Gabe Sapolsky of EVOLVE and Dave Prazak of Shimmer did not take part in any such actions. Lynn has promised to reveal more in the next few weeks.
Oh the sexual harassment stories that could be told about the wrestling business. Some by me, I’m sure some by many others. I’ve been sexually harassed by promoters and wrestlers. Problem is no one ever believes us. Maybe one day I’ll speak up. #wrestling #sexualharassment

It’s part of the reason why I don’t even bother being in the business anymore. There are some sick, sick people in it. https://t.co/BNreEHjAkK

We used to have a name for hugs at a certain promotion I was at. They were called “_____-hugs” with the name of the promoter in the blank and he would give them to the girls, rubbing our lower backs and holding us real close. We all knew we were getting these hugs. 1/2

2/2 When the promoter found out I had a boyfriend, even though I never hid it, I just didn’t advertise it because of personal reasons, I got reprimanded for not telling the promoter even though nothing had ever happened between us, and I wasn’t used as much. #wrestling

Would it help to know that this promoter is somewhat connected to a major fed? Probably not. https://t.co/NGu718zzD2

Should I go into when the other “partner” would ask me for an “OTPHJ”, which stands for an “over the pants hand job”?? That’s how he would ask for it, and often. No thanks. https://t.co/si5sDR1Ql6

I want to clarify this isn’t about Gabe. https://t.co/2yawKh8YpH

I will speak more on this tomorrow. Also, I am not speaking about Rob Naylor at all, Rob is a good friend and has never done anything like that. Thank you for the support and if there are any more questions I will answer tomorrow!

The reason I am speaking out now is because I no longer have anything to do with the business side of wrestling and I don’t need to worry about getting or losing bookings. Yes, I should have said something sooner, but it’s also scary because wrestling is very much a “boys club”
— Heather Lynn (@heatherlynn1024) November 30, 2017
There are many girls who have gone through what I have, and worse I’m sure, but don’t speak out because they are still involved in the biz. I get it. I have the luxury of being able to speak my mind now. It sucks when you stay quiet and go along with it to keep your bookings.
— Heather Lynn (@heatherlynn1024) November 30, 2017
The ONLY reason I have not specifically named names yet other than to deny certain names is because I want to make sure that I am legally protected. Some of these people have more money than me and I don’t want to have to face any legal issues.
— Heather Lynn (@heatherlynn1024) November 30, 2017
I am not trying to be vague or coy, you can look at the companies I have worked for and more than likely put two and two together. I will be happy to deny anyone not involved though. I wish more women would speak up with me, but I get it and I will never blame them.
— Heather Lynn (@heatherlynn1024) November 30, 2017
Allow me to clarify that I am not speaking of Dave Prazak. I’ve only worked with him once in San Jose and he was never anything other than professional to me.
— Heather Lynn (@heatherlynn1024) November 30, 2017
Whether you meant it or not, what you said is completely disrespectful. I barely got paid, most women in wrestling don’t make much, so no, it had nothing to do with money. It had to do with living wrestling and not wanting to lose it. https://t.co/6oMZLUn51X

I just want to say thank you for all the support. I appreciate it and I will be speaking a lot more on this very soon. I am going through finals right now so it’s making it a little tight but I will make the truth known. Thank you again.

Tommaso Ciampa shocked the wrestling world when he turned on Johnny Gargano at the end of NXT Takeover: Chicago. Unfortunately, the inevitable feud between the two wrestlers has been put on hold due to the fact that Ciampa suffered an injury during the event. Ciampa’s injury has kept him on the shelf for several months now while Gargano has since begun a solo career in NXT. When asked about the current status of Ciampa’s injury, the Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer noted on Twitter that he has had several surgeries on multiple aching parts of his body. Despite this, Meltzer is optimistic that he will be able to return to the ring very soon.
Not sure but it feels to me he should be close, he had several different surgeries, was working on a lot of hurt bodyparts. https://t.co/wXcvKacPwo

Another sign that Matt Hardy’s “Broken” gimmick has been resurrected and will be coming to WWE television very soon has been revealed. Vanguard 1, the loyal drone character during the initial run of the character, has tweeted for the first time since February. On top of that, Hardy has uploaded a new video of himself (clearly under his “Broken” persona) calling for Senor Benjamin to return. There is no evidence that these characters will be used on WWE television since the company is reportedly putting their own spin on the gimmick, but there is reason to be optimistic. Anthem released a statement this week confirming that the Hardys will now be allowed to use the character, and all of their talent will be granted full access to their characters to use elsewhere from now on.
