After a little break, PlusLiga is waking up
Three out of five matches in Plusliga were held this weekend. Jastrzebie beat Wielun in three sets, Olsztyn lost at home.
Jastrzębski Wegiel – Pamapol Wielun 3:0 (25:21, 26:24, 25:22)
MVP: Benjamin Hardy
This is not a good season for Jastrzebie. Althought they didn’t advance to the play-off, they have a great chance to get into Final Four of Champions League. The team of Bernardi was build up by victory over Noliko, so they won again – this time against polish rival, Pamapol Wielun. This match was quick and only in the second set Wielun had an opportunity to win. Lukas Divis was the best scorer in Jastrzebie (13 points), but Benjamin Hardy was the MVP of this meeting. Now, Jastrzebie is focused on revenge with Maaseik.
AZS Olsztyn – Fart Kielce 1:3 (17:25, 25:23, 19:25, 25:27)
MVP: Slawomir Jungiewicz
Before this match there were some speculations about fair play. Actually, for Olsztyn it could be better if they loose, because then, this team will not meet with Jastrzebie in the next round of play-out. However, Kielce won 3:1. Olsztyn made a lot of simple mistakes. On the other side, Dobrowolski (the setter of Fart) had a good day, so his colleagues scored more efficiently. In the last part, Olsztyn catched their rivals in the middle of the game, and hosts had a chance to tie break, but they did not use it. In the end, they could not finish their attack and it was the final reason of their defeat. By this victory, Kielce got the first place in the 7-10 zone.
AZS Warszawa – AZS Czestochowa 3-2 (22:25, 20:25, 25:22, 26:24, 15:9)
MVP: Wojciech Zalinski

Dawid Murek showed his impressive service, which was very helpful to get a safe leading of Czestochowa. In the third part it seemed that it is going to be the last set. Czestochowa was leading 10:7, but then, Warszawa started to dig and attack and the result was 13:13. Czestochowa couldn’t finish their actions. Marek Kardos, the head coach of the guest tried to make some changes in his team, but they didn’t work. In tie break, Warszawa got a few points more (8:5) and they didn’t let their rivals to get up.
