Amid the growing concerns over digital data security following revelation of how third party apps collected user data from Facebook, the Indian government has introduced a draft policy to safeguard health related data of individuals.

The draft Digital Information in Healthcare Security Act (DISHA) prepared by the Union Health Ministry aims to ensure privacy and confidentiality of the patient health records.
