Nine Friends Held For Killing Elderly Doctor To Fund Their Holiday Trip

A group of nine friends planned a month-long trip to Shimla and Kashmir. The itinerary was in place, the only thing missing was money. After failing to convince their families to help out, the friends hatched a plan to kill an elderly doctor whom two of them knew.

They conducted several recces for a week before smothering the doctor to death. They chose a time when the doctor’s daughter was away at a school where she was a teacher.

The friends decamped with cash and jewellery worth Rs 11 lakh. However, before they could embark upon their much-awaited trip, one of the friends was caught.
