More Details On WWE Backlash Featuring Raw & Smackdown Stars, WWE Possibly Making All PPV Events Dual Branded

As Mike first reported earlier today, sources noted to ProWrestling.com that the upcoming WWE Backlash PPV, which was advertised as a Raw exclusive event, will be a dual brand PPV.

The event will be the first PPV after WrestleMania, and a Reddit user by the name of /njdeatheater has also publicly claimed to have received an email from Ticketmaster, backing up what we’re referring to at this time as an unconfirmed rumor.

The WrestleVotes Twitter account has verified our earlier report, and is adding WWE might be looking into making all PPV events dual branded, citing repetitive match ups and sluggish ticket sales as the reason why WWE might be making the move to feature the stars of both WWE brands on monthly PPV events.

Starting with the Backlash PPV May 6th, all PPVs going forward will be dual branded. No more RAW or Smackdown exclusive shows. Source states repetitive matchups to fill the card along with so-so ticket sales lead to the decision. The weekly TV shows will not be effected.

To clarify last tweet: the brand split is not ending. RAW & Smackdown will continue to have different rosters. Two separate brands will remain on TV. House shows will remain the same. The only change is for PPVs. Both brands will have matches on each PPV show.
