WWE Reportedly Ribbed Edge For One Week Prior to His Classic Hair vs Hair Match Against Kurt Angle
WWE fans might recall one of Hall of Famer Edge’s most classic feuds came against fellow Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, and the feud culminated in a Hair vs Hair match at WWE’s Judgment Day PPV back in 2002. Comically enough, the feud might have had the most lasting repercussions of Angle’s career as The Olympic Gold medalist’s hair has yet to grow back, and the match took place 16 years ago.
On today’s edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, host Dave Meltzer told a little-known story of the Edge vs Kurt Angle match in 2002, revealing the following:
“Do you know the story of that match? Do you know that they ribbed Edge, and he didn’t know until the day of the show that…he thought he was losing. Even though we all knew Kurt was losing, they told Edge he was losing all the way through until the day of the show.”
You can watch footage of the classic match, along with Angle getting his head shaved after the loss, in the video player above.
