HBK On Why a WrestleMania Return Match Is Not Realistic
In related news, Shawn Michaels recently spoke with The Daily Star while in The UK for this week’s WWE tournament tapings, and during the interview, HBK further discussed a possible in-ring return.
The WWE Hall of Famer had the internet buzzing a couple weeks ago when he claimed he would “take a look” at the possibility of wrestling another match, but has since taken a few steps back from that stance, and he offered the following to The Daily Star:
“To put me in a singles match a mania it’s a very strenuous and anxious process, once you get in there it’s phenomenal.
“But to get ready for it is 100% work, and I don’t want to put myself or my family through that to go out and try and steal the show at 52 for God’s sakes.”
Michaels’ DX partner Triple H added, “it is tough to live up to that expectation. When you are fantasising about that it’s young guy vs young guy.
“When you then start to think about from our perspective, you start to think ‘I can’t do that, I am not that guy anymore’.

“Time takes it away from you, and you are setting it up to fail. That’s the pressure of it.”
