Karrion Kross returns to WWE NXT, attacks Damian Priest

For the first time since relinquishing the NXT Championship, Karrion Kross returned to WWE television on tonight’s episode of NXT.

Kross made his return by attacking Damian Priest on tonight’s NXT. There had been a segment earlier in the night where Pete Dunne, Kyle O’Reilly, and Priest interrupted NXT Champion Finn Balor and wanted the next shot at his title. Scarlett then appeared on the stage and confronted Balor. Balor said he had a message for Kross. Balor told Scarlett to tell Kross that whenever he’s ready, Balor’s ready.

Priest asked Scarlett if she usually tells Kross to wait in the car while she handles his business. Priest said that if Kross wants to come back and pick a fight, next time all he has to do is step to Priest like a man. Scarlett smiled at Priest before leaving.

Later on tonight’s show, Priest went to come down to the ring as NXT North American Champion Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell, and Austin Theory were celebrating Gargano and LeRae’s wins from TakeOver: WarGames. Kross attacked Priest as he was making his way to the ring and powerbombed Priest through a table. Kross then left the building, got into a car that Scarlett was in, and sped off.

Kross won the NXT Championship from Keith Lee at TakeOver XXX this August, but he had to relinquish the title just days later due to suffering a separated shoulder in the match against Lee.

Kross returning had been teased at TakeOver: WarGames this past Sunday.

Balor, who has been out of action since suffering a broken jaw during his match against O’Reilly at TakeOver 31 in October, will defend his NXT Championship at NXT’s New Year’s Evil episode on Wednesday, January 6. WWE hasn’t announced how Balor’s challenger will be decided.
