Why Betting Odds Were Wrong, MYC Brackets, Celebrities Backstage

Last night’s SummerSlam show featured some surprising outcomes that not very many fans saw coming. Betting odds for the show were even affected as five out of the thirteen matches were favored incorrectly. Shinsuke Nakamura was favored to win the WWE Championship before favors flipped in Jinder Mahal’s favor moments before the show, and the same happened with the Smackdown Women’s Championship match featuring Natalya winning the title from Naomi. John Cena beating Baron Corbin, Randy Orton beating Rusev, The Miz and Miztourage beating The Hardys and Jason Jordan, Sasha Banks beating Alexa Bliss, and The Usos defeating The New Day were all seen as upsets. BetWrestling.com now reports that WWE may have sealed the leaks that affected each show. Smart money odds never came in and the show’s odds may have been affected because of this.
As usual with SummerSlam, numerous sports athletes and celebrities were in attendance for the huge event. While none were shown on camera during the pay-per-view, plenty were backstage. Macaulay Culkin, Seth Green, and Lin-Manuel Miranda have all confirmed that they were backstage for the event. While The Undertaker did not appear at SummerSlam as had been rumored, his wife Michelle McCool visited some old friends backstage at the show. The Rock’s ex-wife and current manager Dani Garcia was also at the event with her daughter. The Ultimate Warrior’s widow Dana was also backstage with her children as well.
After SummerSlam concluded last night, the WWE Network immediately aired a special Mae Young Classic: Bracketology episode. As the name suggests, the brackets for the tournament were finally revealed during the show. Corey Graves and Lita were there to talk about some of the matches and participants to look forward to seeing during the tournament. The first four episodes of the tournament will be airing on August 28th, followed by another four on September 4th. The finals for the tournament will be taking place in Las Vegas after Smackdown at 10 PM in a special live Mae Young Classic finale on September 12th.
