Reason John Cena vs. Samoa Joe Did Not Happen on Raw Last Night

Last night on Raw, John Cena was scheduled to face Samoa Joe in what would have been their first TV match in WWE, but that did not happen and instead John Cena was in a segment with Roman Reigns when they had a contract signing for their match at No Mercy and after that John Cena teamed up with Roman Reigns as they took on Karl Anderson & Luke Gallows and they won the match.
Samoa Joe was conspicuously absent from last night’s Raw and the reason has been revealed. At a current house show in Jonesboro, AK last Saturday, Joe suffered a knee injury in a match against John Cena. He then ended up missing the house show on Sunday in Tupelo, MS and was unable to compete on last night’s Raw.
According to f4wonline.com, the Roman Reigns-John Cena segment was always planned for Raw even before Joe was injured. Furthermore, the comments made by both Reigns and Cena were scripted well in advance and it was not a case of either of them going off the rails with unapproved verbiage.

As for Joe, the earliest timetable for his return is 4-6 weeks, but we will need to wait for the word from WWE themselves to acknowledge the injury and to confirm the timetable for his recovery time.
