First Two New Japan World Tag League Matches Bring Surprise
New Japan Pro Wrestling’s World Tag League kicked off with two matches on the November 18th show and both brought about some surprises in their results.
In the first match, Hirooki Goto and his partner YOSHI-HASHI from the Chaos group defeated The Suzuki-gun squad of Minoru Suzuki and Takashi Iizuka when Goto pinned Suzuki himself after delivering a GTR.
In the other WTL match of the night, Juice Robinson and his partner Sami Callihan defeated the Los Ingobernable de Japon team of Evil and Sanada when Juice pinned Evil with his move, Pulp Friction.
While this gives the Chaos team and Sami and Juice points in the round robin tournament, the bigger story from the first night of tournament action is Hirooki Goto pinning one of the scariest dudes on the planet in Suzuki (the guy is an MMA legend) and probably earning a shot at Suzuki’s NEVER Open weight Title in the process.
With WrestleKingdom coming up, we may have seen a new match in the works. Especially since traditionally WrestleKingdom has EVERY belt defended during the show.
