Cena Starring in Jackie Chan Film, Fox Leaving WWE? ROH in MSG

John Cena’s status in wrestling is a bit uncertain at the moment. Cena has been away from the ring and is now focusing on an acting career. The 16-time world champion has kept himself immensely busy by taking in several different film roles, but he has just signed on for an interesting new project. The Hollywood Reporter says that Cena has replaced Sylvester Stallone in the film “Project X.” Cena will be starring alongside Jackie Chan in the movie, and the two of them will be teaming up to take Diana group of thieves who plan on stealing a fortune in oil. There is no exact relate date for the new movie just yet but it was mentioned that it will likely be released in theaters some time next year.
Alicia Fox is a former Diva’s Champion who has been competing in WWE for over ten years now, but event reports claim that Fox may be on her way out soon. Fox has been out of action for months due to a broken tailbone, and although she has appeared backstage at a few WWE events and should be returning to the ring soon, PWInsider says that her status in the company is currently up in the air. The company may be hesitant to use Fox again due to her public feud with Ronda Rousey’s husband, Travis Browne, surfacing earlier this year. Fox has been wrestling on Raw regularly prior to her injury, and her current deal with the company will reportedly be expiring later this year.
WWE has held several events in Madison Swuare Garden over their long history, and the venue has become somewhat of a home to the company over the years. After Cody Rhodes’ All In event was able to secure over 10,000 fans, it looks like Ring of Honor may be attempting to duplicate that success by hosting an event in the famous New York arena. Sinclair Broadcast Group CEO Chris Ripley has informed The Baltimore Business Journal that Ring of Honor is attempting to run a show from The Garden at the moment. The promotion is reportedly looking to hold a show at the venue at some point in 2019. Ripley stated that the successes of All In and WWE’s new TV deal with Fox has caused ROH to begin planning for this event.
