WWE NXT Results – November 14th, 2018
This is it, everybody. It’s the final episode of NXT before the NXT Takeover: WarGames event in Los Angeles, California this Saturday night. Tonight’s show was mostly focused on putting the finishing touches on each of the matches on the card for Takeover. Plenty of video packages and an entertaining main event helped set the stage for the event this weekend, but some more developments came out of this week’s show. Up first on tonight’s show was a match between new NXT Superstar Mia Yim and rising competitor Bianca Belair.
Mia Yim vs. Bianca Belair –
This match was announced after Belair confronted Yim backstage not too long ago. Of course, Belair is still un-de-feat-ed in singles matches in NXT, so it was important for the new NXT signee to impress everybody in this match. How well did Mia Yim do here?
Not too bad actually as she was dominant right out of the gate. Bianca refused a test of strength offer from Yim, but Mia caught her with a series of dropkicks all around the ring. Belair was tossed outside of the ring and was sent all the way to the floor. Back in the ring, Yim tried to get back into the match, but she was countered by Bianca every time.
Yim was able to get a few shots and dropkicks in on Belair, but she just couldn’t get the pin that would end “The EST’s” undefeated streak. Belair continues to work on Yim in the middle of the ring, but that is not enough to keep the HBIC down. Mia gets up and and lands another dropkick followed by a gutwrench suplex for a two-count. Bianca fires back with a spinebuster for another near fall in this match.
Both women continued to fight with all that they had. Bianca got some stiff shots in on Yim in the corner of the ring, and Mia eventually did the same to her. The two of them went back and fourth for a bit until Bianca Belair was finally able to get her up on her shoulders and slam her down to the canvas in order to pin Mia Yim and keep her winning streak alive.
Winner: Bianca Belair
Ricochet and Pete Dunne begin arguing backstage over who will represent the team in their match against the Undisputed Era tonight. Rowe screams at the two of them to stop before Hanson volunteers to compete in the match against Kyle O’Reilly.
A video package for the Johnny Gargano vs, Aleister Black match aired. It showed Gargano’s explanation for why he attacked Aleister Black. Aleister called him a coward for his actions. They face off this Saturday.
Matt Riddle is great fun for his successful debut. Just then, Kassius Ohno appears backstage and says that his confrontation backstage from a few weeks ago was meant to be a test. Ohno calls him trash, which prompts Riddle to accept his “test,” and then promises to knock him out.
Karissa Rivera vs. Lacey Evans –
Rivera entered Full a sail to the same song that Carmella and R-Truth use for their dance breaks to take on “The Lady of NXT.” Evans shoved her down and did pushups on her back before shoving her face into the turnbuckle. A bronco buster in the corner followed. She seemed confident, but then Karissa fired back with some shots and a dropkick. She goes for a pin but only gets to the number one.
Evans instantly becomes furious and turns up the intensity. She dodges the offense from Rivera and connects with a Women’s Right before getting the quick three-count.
Winner: Lacey Evans
Afterwards, Lacey grabs a mic and says that the women in NXT continue to lack class. If they do not pick themselves up, Evans will teach them respect and proper manners with her Women’s Right maneuver.
Up next was a video package for the NXT Championship match between Tommaso Ciampa and The Velveteen Dream. Both competitors are starving for the spotlight, so it will be interesting to see who walks out with the NXT title during Takeover: WarGames this weekend.
The video package for Kairi Sane vs, Shayna Baszler aired next. Sane noted that her treasure chest is empty now, but Baszler won’t have her friends at ringside to help her win this time. She said that she will defeat Shayna and win back the NXT Women’s Championship in their 2-out-of-3 falls match at Takeover on the night before Survivor Series.
Kyle O’Reilly vs. Hanson –
This match guaranteed the winning man’s team the advantage in the WarGames match at Takeover. Hanson fought for himself, Ricochet, Pete Dunne, and Rowe while O’Reilly competed for the Undisputed Era.
Hanson started off impressively as he shoved Kyle all around the ring with ease. Kyle tried to sweep the leg and take down his much larger opponent, but he was unable to get the big man down. Hanson charged after him and bulldozed him down to the canvas. He drove O’Reilly facing upward on top of the post in the corner of the ring and dishes out some harsh chops to his chest. Kyle then began to gain control following a dropkick to Hanson’s leg as the War Raider tried to reeener the ring.
O’Reilly tried to lock in an ankle lock on Hanson, but the latter still had some fight him him. Kyle snapped the ankle with his foot. A kickout from Hanson sent O’Reilly flying out of the ring. It seemed as if Hanson had gotten back into the match, but O’Reilly then stomped on the left knee of Hanson. He took him down and placed knee lock on his rival. Hanson desperately tried to power out of the move. He only did so by connecting his foot right to O’Reilly’s jaw.
Kyle ran after him but he was met with a back body drop. Hanson slammed him hard Irish whipped him into the corner. Following an avalanche slam and another slam in the middle of the ring, Hanson got a two-count on Hanson. Kyle fell out of the ring, but Hanson continued his onslaught with a dive outside of the ring. Next, he charged after Kyle in the corner.
Hanson went up to, but Adam Cole came out and tried to prevent Hanson from going through with the move. Hanson dove anyway, but O’Reilly moved out of the way just in time. O’Reilly reapplied the ankle lock, but Hanson continued to fight through the pain. While resting against the ropes, Cole connected with a superkick while the referee was tending to O’Reilly. That’s still not enough to stop Hanson!
Cole continues to get himself involved but Rowe comes out to even the odds. Eventually, the rest of The Undisputed Era come out before Ricochet and Pete Dunne try to help fight them off. A brawl between the two teams breaks out at ringside, but unfortunately, the referee was distracted and unable to see Kyle O’Reilly hit Hanson with the NXT Tag Team Championship. The sneaky devil was able to take advantage of the situation, and as a result, The Undisputed Era now has the man advantage at NXT Takeover: WarGames in the titular main event match.
Winner: Kyle O’Reilly
That does it for this episode of NXT. Four matches are set to take place at NXT Takeover: WarGames this weekend. Of course, WarGames returns with The Undisputed Era facing the team of Ricochet, Pete Dunne, and The War Raiders in the two rings and cages. It will also be time for The Velveteen Dream to take on Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Championship, Kairi Sane has a chance to win the NXT Women’s Championship from Shayna Baszler, and Aleister Black will be seeking revenge for Johnny Gargano attacking and injuring him earlier this year. Next week’s episode of NXT will also take place in the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California. I’ll see you NXT time!
