Jim Ross & Conrad Thompson Working on Podcast, RVD on Retirement

Conrad Thompson has definitely left a mark on the wrestling landscape over the past few years. Not only is he responsible for the popular Starrcast conventions that have taken place over the past few years, but he has also helped create two of the most popular wrestling podcasts today. Whether it’s Something to Wrestle With Bruce Prichard, WHW with Tony Schiavone, or 83 Weeks with Eric Bischoff, fans cannot get enough of listening to Thompson ask and debate with industry professionals about stories from the histories of WWE and WCW. Those podcasts have both experienced a ton of success over the years, however, could Thompson be getting to work on a new endeavor with WWE Hall of Famer and legendary announcer Jim Ross?
Jim Ross was speaking on his Jim Ross Report podcast this week when he mentioned that he met with Thompson a while ago to discuss opportunities to collaborate together on a podcast. Ross says that the plans are still in the developmental stages, but it is still a plan that they could be executing soon. Ross says that the show will likely take the place of his current podcast if it does ever come to fruition. The news comes right after Bruce Prichard was rehired in a creative role by WWE, leaving the future of Something to Wrestle up in the air. Given the experience and knowledge that Jim Ross has, there is no doubt that he likely has several interesting stories to share about his time in the wrestling business.
“It looks like somewhere down the road, there’s a very good chance that Conrad and I will be doing some podcasting together,” Ross said. “I’m very excited about that.”

Rob Van Dam has earned his place as a legend in the wrestling industry. Not only is he a former world champion in WWE and ECW, but he has experienced a ton of success in other promotions as well. RVD has been known to compete occasionally, but the wrestler now considers himself “semi-retired.” While speaking with WrestleZone, Van Dam said that he has only accepted 10-12 matches per year over the past three years, and that is the schedule that he now feels comfortable with. Rob Van Dam says that he has no plans to make a full time wrestling return any time soon, but he is ready to step in the ring again if his accommodations can be met. Van Dam is returning to Impact Wrestling for their United We Stand show on April 4th.
“I consider myself semi-retired. The last three years I’ve had about 10-12 matches a year, most of them overseas, and I’m really not looking to do more than that. But good business is good business.” RVD said.
