The A1 argentine 2010/11 season starts

Four teams are playing the “Master Termas Concepción Cup” in Entre Rios, Argentina, starting the official 2010/11 season. UPCN overcame La Union de Formosa by 3-0, and go finals against Boca, who defeated Drean Bolivar by 3-1.

 

UPCN showed a great performance not giving La Union any chance of fighting the match back. In this first new competition with the participation of the best four teams of the 2009/10 season the team coached by Armoa showed that with the strong reinforcements their goal of becoming one of the most important teams of the ACLAV season’s competitions seems on the right path. UPCN won by 25/14, 25/18, 25/17) and the clue of the victory was the power shown by the foreign players that wear the San Juan jersey: Colombian opposite Alex Moreno, Brazilian middle blocker Junior and Czech wind spiker Kamil Baranek.

In the second match of the day, Boca-Rio Uruguay Seguros defeated Drean Bolivar by 3-1 (25-23, 25-22, 32-34, 25-21) in a match that started very leveled the host team of Boca-Rio Uruguay Seguros showed in front of its fans that it is taking very serious the first competition of the 2010/11 ACLAV season. On the third set, the most fought, Bolivar found its momentum at the closing time to try to force a tie-breaker but the team coached by Gigante showed a better level closing their first match with a local celebration.

Its important to say that Drean Bolivar missed four players that are competing in World Championship in the national team of Argentina: setter Luciano De Cecco, middle blocker Sebastián Sole, spiker Lucas Ocampo and opposite Federico Pereyra. The argentine champion also missed its coach, Javier Weber and during this tournament its coached by Carlos Getzelevich.
