Bodies Of 2 'Beloved' HSE Teachers Found In Fishers

FISHERS, IN — Two Hamilton Southeastern schools cancelled Thursdays classes for grief counseling after the bodies of two district teachers were found Wednesday night. The loss of “two beloved teachers” from Fall Creek Intermediate and Hoosier Road Elementary teachers are being mourned by the district Thursday, Dr. Allen Bourff, Superintendent of HSE Schools said. WXIN said authorities in Fishers are investigating after the two longtime HSE teachers were found Wednesday night, the district confirmed.

Police were called to Dorster Street near 131st and Olio Road on a report of gunshots, WXIN said, adding that police found the bodies of a man and woman upon arrival.

Fishers Police Department Sergeant Tom Weger said they don’t believe there is anybody else involved in the incident, based on the information they’ve gathered so far.

Patch obtained a statement released by HSE Schools Wednesday night:

“It is with great sadness that we have learned of the sudden passing of two longtime staff members during an incident Wednesday evening. Fishers Police Department is leading the investigation, and we will be supporting them in their efforts. We are currently working through our district’s Crisis Response Team, which includes mental health professionals, to provide much-needed support during this difficult time.”

Although classes are cancelled Thursday, Dr. Bourff said counselors and mental health professionals are on hand at both buildings for teachers and students if assistance is needed in processing this tragedy.

Classes are in session at all other HSE schools.
