The partnership of car company Vauxhall with Fashion Scout is extended for another two years. The off-schedule initiative at London Fashion Week is a collaboration between Vauxhall Motors and Fashion Scout, which was formed in 2006. Show producer and co-founder of Graduate Fashion Week John Walford, and business partner Martyn Roberts, an ex-fashion PR director and sponsorship consultant, are focussed on providing young talent and emerging designers a professional, all-encompassing platform enabling them to showcase their collections in stress-free style.
This September, Vauxhall Fashion Scout aims to support up to 20 talented up-and-coming designers and showcase their SS09 collections. The initiative has grown into the one of the most important and widely respected off-schedule events at London Fashion Week. Vauxhall Fashion Scout works with the UK’s most talented emerging fashion designers to drive them forward and providing them with the venue support they need. With a new, extensive mentoring scheme in place for September, Vauxhall Fashion Scout is wants to nurture and develop the designers of the future.
Vauxhall has a commitment to supporting up and coming talent in the UK and sponsored Britain’s Next Top Model on LIVING with Vauxhall Tigra. Tigra and Vauxhall Fashion Scout will be working in tandem this September as the winners from the Face of Tigra promotion will be sashaying down the catwalk at Vauxhall Fashion Scout during London Fashion Week. Previous young designers that have taken part in Vauxhall Fashion Scout include rising stars Peter Pilotto, Julia Clancey and Jens Laugesen.
