LOUISVILLE, Ky. — St. John Fisher’s Lindsey Thayer and St. Catherine’s Kylie Macziewski scored Louisville Slugger/NFCA Division III National Pitcher and Player of the Week recognition, respectively.

Junior right-hander Thayer earned the pitching honor for a second straight week off an epic three-game stretch. The St. Lawrence High product opened her week with a no-hitter against Keuka, then tied the NCAA Division III record with 21 strikeouts over seven innings in a three-hit shutout of Nazareth. Then, she collected her 1,000th career strikeout and tossed a perfect game against Alfred.

Junior shortstop Macziewski, meanwhile, went 10-for-15 (.667) at the plate with nine runs scored, two doubles and two homers. She scored 90 percent of the time she reached base last week, as the Wildcats went 4-0 and outscored their opponents 49-4 over that stretch.
